Ramon "Moncho" Gonzalez

It is with deepest sadness and love that we announce the passing of “Welo”, Ramon “Moncho” Laboy Gonzalez, who peacefully departed this life on May 29, 2026, at the age of 98.

Moncho was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico to Ramon Gonzalez and Juana Laboy. He was the oldest of eight children, Victor, Maria, Candy, Bautita, Nando, Raquel and Gloria.

Welo “Moncho” was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, family member, and friend whose life was marked by strength, wisdom, kindness and unconditional love.

He touched the hearts of everyone who has the privilege of knowing him and leaves behind a legacy that will continue through the generations he helped guide and inspire.

Welo “Moncho” enjoyed listening to music, playing dominoes, going to the Casino, watching local sport teams and visiting his homeland Puerto Rico

He lived a long and beautiful life, and his joyful spirit will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his son, John Ray Gonzalez, and his daughter, Damary Gonzalez.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jasmine, Orlando “Landi”, Eric, Christina “Chrissy”, Victoria and Reina, whose loving care supported him for many years—thank you for your devoted hearts.  As well as his cherished great‑grandchildren Chloe, Paisley, Lucas, Eli, Orlando, Ya’Majesty, Jordan, Londi, Elijah, Chloe, King; and a great- great grandchild King.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we are grateful for the many years we shared with him and for the love he gave so freely.

Ramon’s presence, laughter, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

While he may no longer walk beside us, his spirit will remain with us always.
