Providencia Melendez Rodriguez, 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Born in Morovis, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of Corrado Melendez and Catalina Rodriguez.

Providencia was the beloved wife of the late Jesus Romero and the devoted mother of Ana Romero, Carmen Lydia Romero, Migdalia Romero and Maria Teresa Romero. She was predeceased by her children Miriam Romero, Gilberto Romero and Angel Luis Romero. A loving matriarch, she was a cherished grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
