Nelly V. Alcántara was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. On January 14, 2021, at the age of 69, she passed away peacefully surrounded by her children.
Nelly was born on November 15, 1951 in Yungay, Ancash, Perú, to Virgilio Rivera and Cruz Victoria Miranda.
Known for her compassion to help and care for others, Nelly spent the majority of her time helping others regain their health through naturopathic and holistic methods. She also worked diligently to expand and share her knowledge of spirituality, and hoped to shed light on others who may have needed it.
Nelly battled COVID-19 courageously, and although the battle was lost, she reminded her loved ones of the courage, hope, and strength she instilled in them—and most importantly, of the preciousness of life.
Nelly was preceded in death by her two sons, Rodrigo and George, and her husband of 26 years, Jorge. She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Marianella & James, Alvaro & Jessica, Ariana & Danny, Paolla & Marc. Her ten grandchildren: Marianella, Sebastian, Tyler, Caleb, Danny Jr., Amaya, Alexis, Natalia, Aiden, and Mason. Her sister Teresa and eight other siblings, cousins, nieces, and nephews. And many friends that Nelly touched in some special way throughout her life.
At the family’s request, due to the pandemic, no service will be held.
During this time we are deciding how we would like to best remember and honor our mother's life. We will provide updates in the near future on how you can pay your respects. We ask that you please respect our privacy. Thank you for your understanding.
