Matilde Gonzalez

Matilde Gonzalez was born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico to Maria Lopez and Bautista Gonzalez on December 26, 1927. 

She had 5 brothers and 1 sister. In her early 20's she met and married the love of her life Ramon Gonzalez, and they moved to Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Eventually they moved to Brooklyn, New York, and then to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she lived for the rest of her life. She was blessed with 9 children and also raised 3 grandchildren as her own. She was also blessed with 21 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. She was the Matriarch of our family, and the glue that held us together. She had the most rewarding job of all, being a Mother. She was a blessing to all who knew her. She was the most loving, caring, nurturing, selfless Mother we could've ever been blessed with. She also had a great sense of humor. She would always catch us off guard and have us cracking up. What she enjoyed doing most was cooking, and boy could she cook! Her food was always so delicious because it was made with so much love. She also enjoyed shopping and going to flea markets. She touched the hearts of those who knew her, and she will be greatly missed by all. Heaven gained an angel on November 25th, 2023.
