Martha Bennett

Martha Bennet, age 84 of Philadelphia, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2020.

Daughter of the late Sam and Lorretta McKenzie; beloved wife of the late George F. Bennett; devoted mother of Dorothy Grace Bennett (Joseph Dowling) and Matthew George Bennett (Tiffany Henry); precious grandmother of Kara, Matthew and Christopher Bennett, George and Sophia Dowdell and Molly Dowling.

Martha grew up in West Philly and then moved to Southwest Philly where she raised her children with her husband. She was a waitress and a homemaker.

Martha loved her 10 siblings and numerous nieces and nephews immensely. She was preceded in death by all her siblings.

She was a member of the O’mahoney Women’s club for many years and had many friends. Anyone that met her took to her, she was very pleasant and funny and always had many great stories to tell.

Martha will be placed to rest with her late husband George at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, Pennsylvania.
