Maria Judith Carreras Gomez

Maria Judith Carreras Gomez, age 62, passed away peacefully at home on February 2nd, 2026.

She was born in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico to Antonio Carreras and Paula Félix Garay, and was one of nineteen siblings. Maria later grew up in Philadelphia, where she built a life rooted in family, laughter, and love.

She was the devoted wife of Miguel; a loving mother to Kenny (Malaina), Amanda (Iain), Brianna, and Alexis; and a proud grandmother to Yasir, Armani, Odin, Lettie, Josiah, and Ezra.

Though many knew her as Maria, some called her Judy—and to her grandchildren, she was lovingly known as “Gorgeous.” What began as a sweet nickname became simply who she was to all of us. Gorgeous fit her perfectly—inside and out.

Maria was a jokester at heart, generous with her love, and always found ways to make others feel good and lift those around her.

She is also survived by her beloved dog, Bonbón, whom she loved dearly. As well as many siblings, nieces, and nephews who meant the world to her.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
