John Torres, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and cherished community member, passed away peacefully on November 30th at the age of 62.
He was born to Evaristo Torres and Sofia Benitez.
John was a man of deep faith, unwavering dedication, and boundless generosity. John’s life was defined by his devotion to his family and his community.
He was the loving husband of Gloria for 41 years, a partnership built on love, respect, and mutual admiration. Together, they raised four sons—PaPa, Mikey, Timmy, and Matthew—whom John loved deeply and with great pride. His family expanded with the arrival of his grandchildren, GiGi, Genny, Josh, Santino, Saige, and Giah, all of whom were the light of his life. Brother to Lydia, Mary, Nancy , Giovanni, Stephanie . (Charles, Luca, Benito).
A true pillar of his community, John was always there to lend a helping hand, particularly to the youth. He believed in the power of opportunity and was committed to providing support, mentorship, and encouragement to young people, helping them reach their full potential. His contributions were felt far beyond his immediate family, as he worked tirelessly to give back and make the world a better place. John was a man of kindness and compassion, always putting others before himself. His caring soul and willingness to serve others have left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
He will be remembered for his generosity, integrity, and laughter he brought to every room. John’s passing leaves a tremendous void, but his legacy of love, service, and devotion will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. A private family service will be held, with a public celebration of his life to follow.
Rest in peace, John. You were loved deeply, and you will be missed more than words can express.
