Gladys M. Alicea

Gladys Alicea, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, at the age of 89. A lifelong resident of Philadelphia, PA, Gladys will always be remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family.
 
Born on October 8, 1936, in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico, Gladys lived a life rooted in compassion and generosity. She devoted herself to her family and community, always ready with a helping hand and a warm smile. Her home was a place of comfort and laughter, where everyone felt welcome.
 
She is survived by her children: Jose Alicea (Angie Alicea), Pedro Alicea, Victor Alicea (Elsa Alicea), Carlos Alicea (Yolanda Alicea), Angel Alicea (Naomi Alicea), Anibal Alicea (Emilia Soto), Carmen Alicea, Wilfredo Alicea, Maria Alicea, and Carmen Burgos (Jorge Burgos). Gladys also leaves behind 27 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish her memory and the lessons she taught about love, resilience, and faith. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jose Luis Alicea, and two grandsons, Carlos Alicea and Luis Martin Alicea.
 
Gladys’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her laughter, wisdom, and unconditional love will never be forgotten.
