Gerardo “Jerry” Rivera was born May 10, 1966, to Carmelo and Aida Rivera in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was the fourth child born to them. He was a devoted brother to Carmelo Jr. (Papo), Ricardo Luis (deceased), Carmen Aida (deceased) and Blanca Rosa. His love and admiration for his parents and siblings were immeasurable.
He was a proud Union Local 542, Engineering Operator for over 30 years and greatly appreciated by his colleagues.
He was admired for his sincere love for people, his straight up ways and jokes. But most importantly, he loved to make people happy and help them through practical ways or as a listening ear. He was loved and appreciated by his nieces and nephews and was always ‘That uncle.” He leaves behind many friends, an abundance of family but even more - memories of his love and humor.
He fell asleep in death on October 8, 2023 (John 11:11). We all await until Revelation 21:4 is fulfilled, “He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
The Rivera Family thanks you for your sincere love and support.
