Carmen Luz Bonaparte Obituary

Carmen Luz Bonaparte was born on November 12, 1953 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. She was born to Ramon Gonzalez (RIP) and Matilde Gonzalez. She had eight brothers and sisters, Carlos, Hector, Minerva (RIP), Edwin, Nelly, Marivel, Evelyn, and Helysel.

She moved to Brooklyn then she moved to Philadelphia where she had her final home. She had two daughters, Belinda Bonaparte-Shead (James Shead) and Rachel Nieves-Ortiz (William R. Ortiz Jr.). She had five grandchildren, Melanie (Jade), Saul, James (Melissa), William, and Tiffani. She had her first great grandchild on the way, baby James. Carmen was the guardian of the family.

She spent her life watching over others and protecting those she loved most. From an early age she was the person anyone could turn to in times of darkness. Carmen was the protector for her children and grandchildren. All in her presence could feel the safety and security she brought to her family. She willingly dedicated herself to her family and put them above all others. Her love was unconditional and eternal. Carmen was singlehandedly the most selfless and giving person this world could have asked for. She asked for nothing and gave all in return. Her joy came from the happiness she could bring to others.

Carmen was a warrior through all her trials and tribulations. She fought illness after illness and never gave up hope. She carried her cross and gained her place in salvation just as God intended. Carmen will forever be loved and missed by all. She will always hold a special place deep within our hearts. Her story will live on for generations. We will yearn for the day we are once again reunited at heaven's gate.
