Asuncion Roman Vazquez, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Asuncion was born on May 2, 1940 in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico to Faustino Roman and Epifania Vazquez.
Beloved husband of Ramonita Neris; devoted father of Maria Palmore, Carmen Vazquez, Rosita Garcia, Norma Vazquez, Luis and Maria.
He is also survived by siblings, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Asuncion was of strong character but with a good sense of humor always having a smile on his face; a hardworking man and good provider to his family.
He was a family man and well respected in the community. He was a police officer back in 1970’s and later became a business owner. Most people knew him as “Pancho”; he was the kind of friend that gave his shirt off his back to anybody.
Asuncion attended la capilla La Milagrosa (Chapel of the Miraculous Medal) and was a “Cursillista”.
He enjoyed listening to old Spanish music, farming, watching antique car shows, sports and western movies. He shared precious moments playing dominoes and gardening with family and friends.
His viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Rodriguez Funeral Home and his final viewing will be held at St. Veronica’s Church, 6th & Tioga & Streets, from 9:00 am to 9:45 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am.
He will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
