Teresa Diaz (née Alvelo)

Teresa Diaz (née Alvelo), age 87, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Teresa was born in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico to Pedro Alvelo and Evarista Sánchez de Alvelo.

She enjoyed being in the company of her children; playing at the Casinos; playing dominoes with relatives and friends; and cooking Arroz con Dulce, Pasteles  and Pernil for her family.  Her favorite past time was watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune with her beloved husband.

She carried her cell phone with her at all times even to bed awaiting her children’s calls.

She leaves precious memories to be cherished to her loving husband Reinol Diaz; beloved children Nancy Pollis (Walter), Daisy Soto, Caridad Montañez (José) and Reinol Diaz Jr. (Melody); devoted grandmother of  Teresa Diaz, Reinol Diaz III,  Andrew Montañez, Natalia Montañez, Daniel Soto, Eric Soto, and Heriberto Garcia;  great grandchildren of Ismael Soto, Isabelle Soto, Izaiah Figueroa, Arianna Diaz, Serenity Diaz and Reinol Diaz IV; siblings Julie Alvelo, Victor Alvelo, Pedro Alvelo, Antonia Alvelo, John Alvelo, Maria Alvelo, Ibet Alvelo, Maritza Alvelo, Radames Alvelo and Carmen Alvelo.  She also had numerous nephews and nieces that she leaves behind, but will be sorely missed especially by her niece Noemi Coreano Rivera.

She was preceded in death by her son Alberto Garcia; and siblings William Alvelo, Aracelis Coreano, Ana Coreano, and Delia Serrano.
