Julia Mercedes Perez

Julia Mercedes Perez, age 73, passed away on December 11, 2018 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Julia Mercedes was born in Lares, Puerto Rico to Juan Perez and Juana Torres.

She is the loving wife of Carlos Gonzalez Colón; beloved mother of Migdalia Garcia and Marisol Ortiz; sister of Hector Ferdinand Perez , Inocencio Perez, Juan Francisco Perez, Juan Pablo Perez, Daniel Perez, Orlando Perez, Alex Perez, Luz Nereida Perez, Blanca Iris Perez and Rosa Perez; precious grandmother of  Miguel Angel Padilla III, Rebekah Zoe Ortiz, Javier Isaac Ortiz, Luis Miguel Padilla and Marcos Iluminado Ortiz; and great grandmother of Miguel Luis Padilla, Christian Michael Padilla, Leana Elizabeth Padilla, Angel Luis Padilla (due this month), Michael Jordan, Analee Lynn Padilla, Marcus Anthony Rivera, Jr. and  Aidan Joseph Rivera.

She was preceded in death by her sister Diomedes “Maita” Perez.

A public viewing will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 9:00AM following a Mass of Christian Burial 10:00AM at Visitation BVM Church, B Street & Lehigh Avenue.

She will be laid to rest at Greenmount Cemetery.
