Carmen Diaz

Carmen Diaz, age 85, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2018 sorrounded by her family in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

She was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic to Francisco Mercado and Susana Diaz.

Loving wife of Lorenzo Diaz; devoted mother of the late Rene Genaro Diaz (Mayra Diaz) Melania Cruz, Marilyn Diaz, Marcio Diaz (Lisa), Luis Diaz (Monta) and Wanda Fekete (Paul); sister of Lila Diaz, Marina Diaz (Deceased), Gladys Diaz (Deceased), Mario Diaz (Deceased), Tono Mercado, Saturnino “Paco” Mercado, Manolo Mercado, Oscar Mercado (Deceased) y Ruben Mercado; precious grandmother of Melissa, Ana, Lana, Jacqueline, Jeanette, J.R. Cruz, Eric Taveras, Michelle Taveras, Greg, Tiffany, Angie, Alexis Lee, Amber Jean, Travis; great grandmother of Michael, Isabela, Makeilah, Malia, Melannie, Jaydan, Randy, Javian, Brooklyn, Aliahya, Gregory, Sophia and Averie. She is also survived by her brothers in law Luis Diaz and Maximo Diaz, many nieces and nephews among other relatives and  dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her son Rene Diaz; and sister Marina Diaz.

A public viewing  on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 am and on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 9 am to 10 am at the Rodriguez Funeral Home, J Street & Erie Ave.

She will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery of Ambler, Pennsylvania.
